OpenStreetMap keeps two tags apart, and so does this register. amenity=bar is a place that serves drinks, often late and often with music; amenity=pub is a public house, where one can usually sit and often eat. Which of the two a venue carries is its mapper’s judgement. Where the map holds one venue twice, as a point and as a building outline with the same name, it is one entry here.

The figures for Ghana count what volunteers have mapped, not what exists. A venue may have closed since it was mapped; a new one may not be mapped yet. Hours are printed as tagged, in OpenStreetMap’s own notation, and are not checked against the venue. This edition holds 138 of the 216 country areas OpenStreetMap draws; 78, the United States and Britain among them, are not harvested yet (the coverage note names them).
