What the limits mean
A weight class is a band. A fighter in a class must weigh more than the limit of the class below and no more than the limit of the class itself, at the official weigh-in. The lightest division the UFC ranks is Women’s Strawweight, up to 115 lb, and the heaviest is heavyweight, up to 265 lb (120.2 kg).
The UFC’s own rankings page lists eleven divisions: eight for men, from flyweight to heavyweight, and three for women. It does not print the limits, which is why the numbers here are taken from the regulation rather than from the promotion.
Nevada’s schedule has eleven classes. The ones the UFC does not rank are atomweight and super heavyweight. The same regulation allows other weights with the approval of the commission or its executive director, and it does not permit a fighter to lose more than 2 pounds after the weigh-in, nor any of that later than one hour after it.
Title fights, the extra pound and catchweights
The Association of Boxing Commissions’ Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts, in the 2019 edition, list nine classes beginning at flyweight, with the same upper limit as Nevada for each class the two share. The document recommends that the custom of a one-pound allowance in bouts that are not for a title continue, but only where the bout contract or a regulation provides for it. It also says a commission may approve a bout at a catch weight.
On the fight cards on this desk the class printed above a bout is the one ESPN’s feed carries for it. The feed abbreviates the women’s divisions with a W, which is written out here, and labels an agreed weight outside the classes as a catch weight.
Rules differ by commission and country. For a bout held elsewhere, the regulator of that place decides. See the next card for the classes on it, or the method page for every source.

Method
Where the numbers come from.
The regulation
Every limit is Nevada’s: the Nevada Administrative Code, section 467.7956, read at leg.state.nv.us on 28 September 2026. It is a state rule for bouts that commission regulates; another commission, or another country, may differ.
The divisions
The eleven divisions are the ones the UFC ranks on ufc.com/rankings, read on 28 September 2026. That page names divisions and prints no limits, which is why the limits come from the regulation.
The allowance and catch weights
The Association of Boxing Commissions’ Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts (2019, 13 pages), read on 28 September 2026, for the one-pound allowance and catch weights.
Computed, and dated
Kilograms are computed here at 0.45359237 kg to the pound, one decimal. Nothing on this page is live: it is the regulation as read on the date above, and a later amendment is not on it until the page is rebuilt.
