Kansas LLC biennial report and due date

$90 to file the Information Report, every 2 years

Note from the reading Online $90; paper $110 (fee schedule in the instructions for form ILC, 'Rev. 1/23/26'). The due rule was read on the Information Reports page (https://sos.ks.gov/businesses/information-reports.html): 'All for profit businesses are due by April 15th of their respective odd or even year'. A three-month delinquency period follows the due date, after which the business forfeits.

Kansas LLC annual tax or franchise tax

Does not apply Franchise Tax (repealed)

This is what the page read says about Franchise Tax (repealed), in its own words. It is a statement about that one tax. It is not a statement that Kansas charges an LLC no tax of any kind.

“There is no Kansas franchise tax for tax year 2011 and after.”
Read 2026-09-28 (UTC) at www.ksrevenue.gov/bustaxtypesfranchise.html

Note from the reading The Kansas Department of Revenue states the franchise tax ended with tax year 2010. This covers the franchise tax only; no page was read that lists every other tax an LLC might owe (income, sales and withholding taxes are outside this schema).

Publication requirement

not read

Not read. No official page that was read states a publication rule either way.

Looked for and not read

  • A single Secretary of State fee schedule page for business filings: not found; fees were read from the fee schedules printed in the forms' instructions.

The researcher's notes

Written by the researcher who read the pages, unedited. Field names such as due_kind are the names in this site's data file.

Kansas fees changed in 2026. A Secretary of State press release dated 2026-05-26 (https://sos.ks.gov/media/press-releases/2026/05-26-26-secretary-of-state-reduces-fees-for-kansans.html) announces reduced LLC formation fees 'aligning with fee for corporations ($90)' and reduced biennial information report fees, without giving the online figures. The forms read today (DL rev. 2/27/26, ILC rev. 1/23/26) carry $85 online / $90 paper for formation and $90 online / $110 paper for the report; the $90 in the press release matches the paper formation fee. The forms' revision dates precede the press release, so a reader should confirm the figures on the form at filing time. A second form at https://sos.ks.gov/forms/business_services/LAO.pdf (same revision date) lists only 'Paper Articles of Organization: $90'. Kansas replaced annual reports with biennial information reports; the report is due in the even or odd year matching the formation year, so due_kind is 'fixed' on April 15 but only every second year. publication.required=false rests on absence in the official instructions. PUBLICATION (orchestrator, 2026-09-28): recorded as not read. The researcher observed: No publication step appears in the Secretary of State's instructions for filing Articles of Organization or on the Register a Business page; this is read from absence, not from an explicit statement that none is required.

Fees change. The state's own page is the authority: open the source link beside a figure before you file or pay. This desk is a reading of public pages. It is not legal advice and it is not tax advice.
