Scope: a standard domestic LLC at standard processing speed, filed online where the online and paper fees differ. The figure shown is the one the cited page states; an add-on or a paper fee that the page also states is in the note under the figure, and nothing is computed from a note.

Rhode Island LLC filing fee

$150 to file the Articles of Organization

Note from the reading Form 400 (revised 03/2026). The Costs & Fees chart also lists $150 as the 'Initial RI Dept. of State Filing Fee' for an LLC. Whether online filing adds an Enhanced Access fee to the $150 (as it does for annual reports) was not read.

Publication requirement

not read

Not read. No official page read states either that publication is required or that it is not; Form 400's instructions and the Costs & Fees page do not mention a publication step.

Looked for and not read

  • Whether filing the Articles of Organization online carries an Enhanced Access fee on top of $150.
  • A 2026 edition of the Division of Taxation's LLC notice, if one exists, was not found; the notice read is dated February 14, 2025.

The researcher's notes

Written by the researcher who read the pages, unedited. Field names such as due_kind are the names in this site's data file.

report.fee_usd is the stated filing fee ($50); the online total is $52.50 because the annual report table has a separate 'Enhanced Access Online Fee' column ($2.50). The schema asks for the online figure where online and paper differ: here the filing fee itself is the same and the $2.50 is a separate access fee, so the generator may show $52.50 if it wants the cash total. The Secretary of State's Costs & Fees page (https://www.sos.ri.gov/divisions/business-services/business-basics/costs-and-fees) agrees with the tax notice: 'required to pay a minimum annual tax of $400 to the Rhode Island Division of Taxation', and 'The tax is owed whether or not business is conducted or a profit is made.' The tax notice gives the pass-through due date as 'File Form RI-1065 each year by March 15' with a footnote that March 15, 2025 fell on a Saturday, moving that year's date to March 17. No conflict between pages.
